Part of the Robert Parker Collection, which is all about grand buildings in grand locations. The five historic hotels stand in some of Britain’s most beautiful landscapes, whether in the mountains of the Lake District, or in parkland beside a river in the Scottish Borders. Each has been individually designed to enhance its period charm and exude a refined but homely atmosphere.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions. If there are no positions that are of interest to you, we are happy to receive speculative applications which will be placed on file for a period of six months and we will be in touch should a suitable vacancy arise within this time.




To control all aspects of the department on a daily basis, and forward planning of future events.

To maximise sales in the Restaurant, Bar and Events.

To ensure that at all times, the food & beverage areas have the necessary resources needed to provide service at the correct standard.

Main Duties

Supplying the highest possible levels of customer care and service whether in the public eye or in back of house areas.

To liaise with your line Manager/General Manager the co-ordination of the Food & Beverage service areas.

To maintain hotel standards of procedure and help implement new standards and quality of service in the Food & Beverage Department.

To help co-ordinate general meetings with the team.

To be fully conversant with all hotel policies regarding Health & Safety, Risk Assessment, COSHH, Fire Policy, Manual Handling and New Starter Policy.

To assist in the recruitment of new employees in conjunction with your line Manager.

To keep staffing levels well within staff to diner ratios.

To help identify and carry out as required any training with the team as required to maintain service standards.

To play an active role in budgets i.e. wages, Sales & Marketing etc 

To react in a positive manner to improve levels of service. 

To report any disciplinary or grievance issues to your line manager.

To ensure Food & Beverage sales initiatives occur and followed through.

To work closely with the Manager and Chef regarding menus, food quality and service standard’s in relation to the kitchen.

To carry out D.M. shifts and sleepovers as and when required.

 To carry out any reasonable request asked for by your line Manager.
