GENERAL MANAGER

We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead the fabulous team at Ednam House Hotel in Kelso in the Scottish Borders. A 3 star hotel with AA rosette dining, part of The Robert Parker Hotel Collection, Ednam is a firm favourite with regular visitors to Kelso.

You will be a business leader with strong commercial acumen and the ability to increase profitability balanced with excellent customer care and focus. You will certainly have management experience, either as a General Manager, Hotel Manager or as a Senior Manager within a medium sized hotel (over 20 bedrooms) for three years or more and in-depth knowledge of the hotel, leisure and service sector.
You will be able to show us proven achievement of key targets and deadlines and experience of managing budgets. Ideally you will have strong IT literacy and experience of hotel bookings systems, but you have a strong team in place.
The job will demand that you take leadership control of all aspects of the day to day and strategic running of the hotel. Supported by Adam Reeves, our CEO and our central finance and HR support, you will be responsible for:
  • Leadership of the team – People, Profitability, Profile and Property
  • The financial performance of the hotel business – Profitability
  • Customer and guest service – Profile
  • Sales and Marketing – working our Group Marketing Manager and Group Revenue Manager
  • People and training – all aspects for the hotel team including all recruitment
  • Communication
  • Property – maintenance and delivering developments where appropriate
  • Health and Safety Compliance
In return, we are offering a salary of £43,750 with the potential to increase that through our Hotel Performance bonus scheme plus your share of gratuities.
Accommodation may be available on site.

SOUS CHEF

We are looking to recruit an experienced sous chef to support our head chef in providing excellent standards of food and consistent service to our hotel guests. The successful candidate will work with the head chef to communicate effectively with the team and ensure optimum running of the kitchen.

You will have a natural passion for food with strong skills in all sections of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience operating in a busy, fast-paced kitchen with culinary success at a minimum of AA rosette level, a clear understanding of 4-star standards as well as budgetary responsibility.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE ASSISTANT

Ednam House Hotel is currently looking to recruit a Food & Beverage Assistant, reporting into the Food & Beverage management team. The main responsibilities of the role will be to the day to day duties of meal service operations across breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner – and including function and events when required.  The role will involve significant guest interaction so customer service expectations will be a high priority and well as the ability to work closely with the kitchen team and other hotel departments to ensure a smooth guest experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to develop good working relationships with staff members. Previous experience in working within a 3* hotel or quality restaurant or bar, experience of working in a busy environment and basic food hygiene knowledge is desirable.

CHEF DE PARTIE 

We are looking to appoint a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team delivering outstanding cuisine in our restaurant, bar and function outlet. The role will involve delivering food to company standards, maintaining and rotating stock levels along with business on books, maintaining a high standard of hygiene in both personal and work area and following all food safety procedures. You’ll have the opportunity to bring ideas to the plate to further advance the food offering at the hotel. We are looking for someone who works well as part of a team and strives to help others and with experience working in a busy kitchen.
