SOUS CHEF – £28,000

Hours of work: Full time, 45 hours per week with variable shift pattern

We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef, capable of cooking to AA rosette standard to join our kitchen team. You will have strong skills in all sections of the kitchen and be able to support the Head Chef in managing the department, ensuring that our high standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience in the forward planning of future activities and events,maximising sales in the Restaurant, Bar and Events through the production and presentation of consistently and superbly presented food. You will have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to support, and work with others from different parts of the hotel.

FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER – £25,000 – £26,000

Ednam House has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to join the team.  With a proven track record delivering the highest levels of service, the ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding of food and drink and the ability to control all aspects of the department on a daily basis, forward planning future events as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience dealing with weddings and events and working in a high volume and high standard operation at a supervisory level.  You will possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to support, and work with others from different parts of the hotel. This is a hands-on role and you’ll need a proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, maintaining attention to detail. We are looking for someone with excellent customer focus and who shows genuine care; proven experience and desire to provide great service to high standards, that include warmth, respect, informality and professionalism.

CHEF DE PARTIE – £22,500

Hours of work: Full time, 45 hours per week

Ednam House is currently recruiting for a Chef de Partie. Reporting into the Head Chef the main duties of the role will involve the daily operation of various sections for service in the kitchen, during service periods of breakfast, lunch and dinner. As well as food preparation & service for banqueting events. Whilst complying with all relevant food safety regulations and company policies in relation to standard procedures.

We’re looking for an individual experienced in organising and prioritising the workload to ensure efficiency of service, whilst meeting the expectations of our guests. The ability to communicate effectively with other members of the kitchen and front of house team is essential to achieve and maintain our reputation as an award-winning establishment.

FOOD & BEVERAGE ASSISTANTS

£ National minimum wage dependent on age and experience – hours variable/full-time positions

Ednam House Hotel is looking for part-time food and beverage assistants to join our friendly Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidates will possess good presentation and communication skills and a passion for great customer service. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to work weekday and weekend shifts.

Responsible to: Food & Beverage Manager

Hours of Work: Part-time variable hours according to level of business

  1. Supplying the highest possible levels of customer care and service whether in the public eye or in the back of house areas.
  2. To set up the restaurant, bar and functions to the required standard.
  3. Ensuring the service and the clearance of food as required throughout the Food and Beverage Department.
  4. To keep the area under your control tidy, clean and free from all used trays and crockery at all times.

KITCHEN PORTER 

£ National minimum wage dependent on age and experience

Hours of work: Full time, Approximately 30 hours per week.

5 days out of 7 on a rotation basis but may vary as required by business demands in order to fulfil the responsibilities of this position.

We are seeking a kitchen porter to join our Food & Beverage Team. Your role will be to keep the main kitchen, banquet kitchen and back of house and bin areas clean and tidy at all times. Reporting directly to the Head Chef or Sous Chef in his absence you will ensure that all crockery is stored correctly and that the surplus is stored away, collect from stores and deliver to the main kitchen all store items and ensure that they are put away and carry out planned cleaning scheduled by the Supervisor to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and associated areas.

PART-TIME NIGHT PORTER 

£9.40 per hour

Hours of work: Part-time, 20-40 hours per week.

We are seeking a Night Porter to join our friendly Team. Our Night Porters play an important role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests and our hotel throughout the night. You will be responsible for dealing with any guest requests, greeting and checking-in late arrivals and maintaining our exceptionally high standards. Due to the nature of the job, we can only accept applicants aged 18 and over.

The role includes:

  • Liaison with your line manager about the co-ordination of all night duties
  • Wedding, conference, function set ups are well laid out and that the equipment used is checked and clean. Ensure crockery, cutlery and glassware that is used is clean and polished.
  • Carrying out checks around the building during the night, ensuring that all areas of the building are secure and that public areas of the hotel are maintained and kept tidy.
  • Ensuring that the restaurant is set up for breakfast after dinner service. That any unfinished tables are completed.
  • Sweeping and sanitising restaurant floor
  • Counting and bagging restaurant linen
  • Answering the internal line phone, and actioning guests’ requests
  • Providing a late check-in service
  • Providing a handover to the front desk team at the beginning and end of each shift and ensuring any issues and guest requirements are actioned.
  • Complying with all hotel policies regarding Health & Safety, Risk Assessment, COSHH, Fire Policy, Manual Handling and New Starter Policy.
  • Ensuring any maintenance issues are reported and recorded in the log book.

No experience is required, as full training will be provided. We are looking for candidates with good presentation and communication skills with a passion for great customer service. You must be trustworthy and reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
