  • "The building is nothing short of stunning - we loved relaxing in front of the roaring fire with a brandy after a lovely meal. The bar food was exceptional and the staff were really. Extra little touches are amazing - the homemade bread at breakfast and the scones available for afternoon tea was so nice."

  • "A lovely room overlooking the courtyard, with comfortable bed, spacious wardrobe, swagged curtains, dressing table, marble fireplace.... The hotel itself beautifully situated on the Tweed and in the town too. Pre-dinner drinks in the bar, with log fire roaring. Dinner was simple but exceptionally good - smoked salmon, fillet steak with parmentier etc, cheese board, creme brulee. All the staff were very friendly and efficient, from the bar and dinner staff to the gardener."

  • "My wife and I (and our dog) stayed here for a nice weekend break in the Borders. Excellent service and value for money throughout. Particularly pleased that this is a dog-friendly hotel. The back of the building is stunning, looking out onto the river with expansive grounds where we could let our dog run about."
